Booting remix on a Mac Book Pro

Hi,

I have an unbootable Mac Book Pro, and I have a real beginner's question about using URR to boot the system. I burned 10.04 URR to a 4G USB key using USB Startup Disk Creator on my Ubuntu 9.10 desktop system. My desktop boots off this key just fine, so I think there's nothing wrong with the key or how I burned it. But I can't get my MBP to boot off it.

If I hold down the option key, the only boot option I get is the (busted) hard drive. If I do cmd-option-shift-delete, I get the grey apple firmware splash screen, followed by an eventual shutdown. The same thing happens holding down the C key. If I do cmd-S, I get the single user command screen, but the USB key isn't mounted and if I look for it in /dev/disk* it isn't there, so I can't mount it. My USB has an activity LED, and in all three cases I see it flash repeatedly at the start.

Does anyone have any advice for how I can boot URR in this situation?

TIA...

Macs cannot boot from USB

Macs cannot boot from USB keys. You would need to use an optical disk.
