Recovery disc not booting correctly (solved)

When attempting to boot from the Rescue CD, I get the following:

Now, this seems like a rather user-unfriendly interface, so I assume this is not the way it is supposed to boot. Attempting to check the configuration file in the isolinux folder on the CD resulted in input/output errors. I checked the integrity of the CD with Disk Utility, and it seems happy with the disc. Any ideas?

If you can't see the configuration files and get input/output errors, I can't see how the disk could be fine.

Have you tried burning another copy?

And on a side not, the interface of the Ubuntu-Recue-Remix is a command line only. But, you can use the Rescue-Remix from within a live Ubuntu desktop system. See the download page on how to add the rescue-remix metapackage onto your Ubuntu Live USB system.
